Rules and regulations

PARAGRAPH 1
GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE RACE

All competitors must be adults (18 +)
To participate in a trek race competitor must apply first. The application forms will be provided by organizer. An application form has been formed also as liability statement. All contestants agree to participate on their own responsibility (everyone should be familiar with possible risks of such meet).
An Organizer is not responsible for any personal equipment damage or lost during the meet (everyone takes care of its own belongings).
All the contestants must claim they health insurance.

PARAGRAPH 2
CATEGORIES, SCORING AND RANKING

There are 3 possible categories to apply for both men and women:

Pjeskarica (short trail), Three Canyons (long trail) and vertical mountain race Paklenica Absolute.

PARAGRAPH 3
RACE APPLICATION

Applications can be find on-line at the official web site of organizer Mountain Traveller Croatia or directly at: http://www.stotinka.hr/hrv
Applications are determined by latest date on our website.
All the info on race and due dates will be posted on our web site.
All contestants that applied online need to pay a participation fee over the account.

PARAGRAPH 4
PARTICIPATION FEE DOWNPAY


Participation fee /down payments will be paid ONLY over the account.
Those competitor that set a down payment but do not attend race, can have 50% refund of participation fee only if they contact organizer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) by latest date 10th April, 2015. After this date competitor will not be able to ask for a refund (organizer is not obligated to reimburse money).

PARAGRAPH 5
TIME REGULATIONS

Time of the race will be given by start sign and will elapse after crossing the finish line.
Official timekeeper at the race is the organizer.
Arrival at control point and on finish line is specified by written instructions
Arrival on the Control point and finish line after specified time is considered as disqualification.

PARAGRAPH 6
EQUIPMENT

Competitors are required to have proper personal equipment during the whole competition
Proper personal equipment includes:

  • Map
  • Compass
  • Aluminum foil
  • First aid kit
  • Mobile phone
  • Whistle
  • Had lamp + spare batteries
  • Race instructions (from the race organizer)
  • Competitors chart (from the race organizer)

GPS is not allowed
Organizer holds all rights to check personal equipment of any competitor at any time

PARAGRAPH 7
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS


Mandatory documents (or copies)all competitors need to bring are:

  • Personal ID
  • Health insurance verification


PARAGRAPH 8
DISQUALIFICATION RULES

Non-compliance, ignoring or denying of the rules and regulations of the race
Disregarding written instructions
Unsportsmanlike conduct that threatens or jeopardizes the reputation of the competition and destroying private property of the property of the organizer
Inability to continue the race for any reason
Use of prohibited routes, equipment or receiving help from anybody
Use of any means of transport
Control point or finish line arrival after time limit
Any moving of the marks on the route set by the race organizer for safety of the competition

PARAGRAPH 9
PENALTIES

For each component of the missing mandatory equipment the competitor get 30 penalty minutes
If the competitor gets penalty time, it will be attached at the end of the race
The only authorized person who decides about competition time, disqualification or penalties is the organizer.

PARAGRAPH 10
WITHDRAWAL

Competitors can quit from the race at any time
The competitor is obligated to inform the organizer on its decision of quitting.
Race organizer will provide medical care and help for competitors who withdraw from the race.

PARAGRAPH 11
CHANGE OF ROUTES

If there are objective reasons caused by whether forecast, and if safety of the competitors is at risk the organizer holds all rights to change control points or cut back time and the length of the race.

PARAGRAPH 12
ENVIRONMENTAL RULES

The competitors are not allowed to light the fire, pollute the environment or destroy the flora and fauna of the NP Paklenica.
It is forbidden to dispose waste anywhere you want, especially on the race routes.
For any failure to comply these rules the competitors will be disqualified.

PARAGRAPH 13
SAFETY

For their own safety, the competitors are obligated to have all mandatory equipment
The competitors are obligated to observe all rules and regulations of this competition, as well as any special directions from the organizer
In case of injury, the competitors have to call for help with their mobile phone. If that is not possible, use a whistle, a mirror etc.
In case of any hard or life threatening injury, other competitors are obligated to help
Race organizer does not guarantee rescue in rapid timeframe due to hard terrain or possible bad weather
Race organizer holds right to stop the competition at any time if the safety of competitors is at risk.
Ways to call for help: light flashing, whistling, yelling (6 times per minute/ every 10 seconds). Responding on help call: 3 times per minute / every 20 seconds. After 1minute pause the injured person confirms with one long signal.

PARAGRAPH 14
COMPLAINTS AND APPEALS

All complaints and appeals should be forwarded to the race organizer in writing after the race, not later than 24 hours after the race
The organizer is obligated to respond within 2 days after receiving the complaint or appeal

PARAGRAPH 15
AGREEMENT ON MEDIA FREEDOM

With their application for the competition, the competitors agree that the entire moving image of photographical material can be publicly screened and used for promotion
Competition organizer holds all rights to use copy and distribute all recorded video and photo materials.
