Dear trekkers, runners, athletes, sport and nature fans,

you probably remember quite modest two editions of Paklenica Trail, held in May 2013. and 2014. when our team worked hard to creat a new value.

Passion for nature and love for running is the major force of story that in 2015. gets a new look and a new race category. So far, Trail race had three categories (jogging, light and ultra) but this time we are presenting two:

Pjeskarica (15km, 400+asl) which is named by newly opened educational path in the length of 1.5 km, which extends from the entrance of National park Paklenica to upper parking in Velika Paklenica canyon. Pjeskarica (Arenaria Orbicularis) is Velebit stenoendemic plant and growing in the gorges of Velika and Mala Paklenica Canyons and nowhere else in the world.

Three Canyons (40km, 2200+asl) leads you through the most attractive parts of National park Paklenica and exceeds over three canyons.

The third category is vertical race Absolute Paklenica (14km, 1810m+asl). It starts on the sea coast and leads you by the most directly route to the second highest top of mountain Velebit, Sv. Brdo (1757m/asl) which is also the finish line. For this category we have provided organized transport from Square Marasovići to the start of the race in village Modrič and return.

The challenge for our team are also refreshment points because most of them can not be reached by car, so all food and beverages must be literally carried in a backpacks. Thanks to the future Velebit sherpas.

Three Canyons (40km) - 180,00 kn (25 EUR)

Dear runners and nature fans, due to frequent questions for applications for the race, we extended deadline until 30th of April, 2015. (Thursday) to midnight.

NEWS 01.05.2015.

Dear runners,

Here are few important instructions:

For category Three Canyons: caution on the descent to the Mala Paklenica Canyon (steep and slippery). Also caution is necessary right after Mala Močila crossroad.

For category Absolute Paklenica: caution right after Vlaški grad ascent –on the saddle (turn right).

Due to poor visibility mark, turn right and keep strictly markings. Also, it is necessary to bypass the snow layers up towards St. Brdo.

For all categories: all categories take place on marked trails that are additionally marked with yellow stripes. Because of malicious intentions of removing marks, follow the markings and yellow ribbons.

 

We kindly ask competitors  to throw garbage in the designated zones.
