About us

Mountain Traveller Croatia is the result of many years of active hiking, love for the mountains and nature, discovering new and interesting destinations, continuous training and professional development.

Mountain Traveller Croatia is located in Seline, a small tourist town on the coast, below the Mala Paklenica, close to Starigrad – Paklenica.

Our team

Our team consists of professional mountain guides, trained by international standards with an internationally recognized license Union of International Mountain Leader Association (UIMLA).

We are trained in the only training program that enable mountain guides with license for mountain -alpine conduct (Article 56 of the Law on the Providing services in tourism) at the Croatian Mountain Guides Association.

We offer professional service and safety. The members of our team are guides with years of experience in the mountains, ascents in high mountains (Andes, Himalaya, Alps, etc.) and other skills necessary for professional mountain guiding (geology, culture, history, etc).

SGVH

Croatian Mountain Guide Association (Savez Gorskih Vodiča Hrvatske) is the first and only independent professional guide association in Croatia. It was founded on November 30th, 1996. and its a logical sequence to development of sgvh logoguding activities in tourism.

It is the only association that through the Croatian Olympic Academy has a permission of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport to educate mountain guides and ski instuctors from June 13th, 2000. The training is conducted by instructors certified by the criteria of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport. CMGA run the people who are true enthusiasts and lovers of nature, proffesionals with extensive experience and practical knowledge, experienced organizers of large and small events. CMGA instuctors are certified instuctors (FPE, HOA, UIMLA) of climbing, orientation, moutain guiding, climbing, skiing and cycling guiding.

The profession of mountain guides is a reflection of better and higher quality of life through community. Its growth is prerequisite for coexistence between nature and humans, and the best example of modern, ecological awake tourism through the whole year – mountain eco tourism.

UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Association)

The Union fo International Mountain Leader Association was founded in November 2004. UIMLA is an internationala governing body based in France which is representing the IMLs from Andora, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Poland, uimla logoSpain, Switzerland, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia nad Peru. One of the most important targets for UIMLA is to represent the profession at the international level as well as setting equal standards of qualifications for all International mountain leaders. UIMLA also promotes the proffesion ad supports the cooperation between IMLs from different countries.

The UIMLA and the IFMGA Mountain Guide are the only internationally recognized qualifications in the mountains world-wide.
